ESTONIA
The Estonian Academy of Arts (EAA) accepts exchange or guest students for one semester or a whole academic year. The Academy consists of four faculties: Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Design, Faculty of Art and Culture and the Faculty of Fine Arts. The Faculty of Design offers courses in Graphic Design, Product Design, Ceramics, Glass Art, Fashion Design, Leather Art, Textile Design and Jewellery and Blacksmithing. The Faculty of Fine Arts offers classes in Animation, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and Scenography for exchange students. EAA is situated in Tallinn, which is the European Capital of Culture in 2011.

FINLAND
TAMK University of Applied Sciences offers a Degree Programme in Media with a focus on interactive media con¬tent design and production (taught in English). The students learn about current digital media issues and can specialise in visual design, interaction design or project management. The course provides a broad perspective on digital design, production and business. The areas included are web design and services, games, mobile media, multimedia, cross media and interactive installations. The Media programme is located at TAMK Finlayson Campus right in the heart of the City of Tampere in Southern Finland.

The University offers a bachelor’s degree programme in Design which is aimed at students from different cultural backgrounds and taught in English. The Design programme focuses on essential design skills, sustainability, global design entrepreneurship and a holistic approach to visual concepts. The programme also includes processing of complex innovative concepts and leading design-orientated projects. The town of Kouvola is located in south eastern Finland (not far from Helsinki and St. Petersburg). It offers a variety of different sports and cultural activities for its residents and guests.

FRANCE
The Institut d’Arts Visuels d’Orléans (IAV) is a school of Art and Design in Higher Education founded in 1787. The first two years of the design bachelor’s programmes consist of foundation courses in Drawing, Graphic Design, 3D, Colour Techniques, Photo, Multimedia, General Studies etc. During this time students choose from the followings directions: Graphic Design, Spatial or Product Design. After graduation (BA level after 3 years) students can continue their studies (MA level) and specialize even more in their chosen area. The IAV is located in the centre of Orléans (only one hour from Paris).

The Iceland Academy of the Arts (IAA) is a self-governing institution providing higher education in fine arts, theatre, music, design, architecture and art education. IAA encourages progressive thinking in the arts and stimulates innovation and development in different fields. The Department of Design and Architecture offers classes in Architecture, Fashion Design, Visual Communication and Product Design. Reykjavik is the largest community in Iceland, with a population of about 200,000. Iceland is the least densely populated country in Europe, with a pure, unpolluted and truly magical landscape and wildlife.

Founded in 1996, Ansbach University of Applied Sciences is a modern, young university with premium positions in national university rankings (CHE-Hochschulranking). It offers the bachelor’s degree programme Multimedia and Communication. After 3 semesters of receiving basis knowledge of Multimedia students choose one of the following specializations: 3D Graphics, Media Design, TV Studio, Journalism, Film or Audio. The University is located in Ansbach in the centre of Franconia, not far from Nuremberg.

The University of Sassari was founded in 1562 and gained the first place in the ranking for the best “medium-sized” Italian university in 2009. Created in 1969 the Insituto de Artes Visuais, Design e Marketing (IADE) was one of the pioneers of Design in Portugal. IADE offers a bachelor’s degree programme in Design. The Academy of Fine Arts and Design (Vysoká škola výtvarných umení) was founded in 1949. The Academy offers the programmes Design and Visual Communication (BA level) in Slovak language. There are also certain courses offered in foreign languages (mostly English and German) such as Painting and other Media, Visual Communication (only certain courses, others mostly in Slovak), Photography, Book Illustration and Drawing among others. The Academy has 2 campuses in Bratislava: the main building is located in the very heart of downtown and the other campus at Drotárska cesta is situated on a hill with a view of the river Danube and Bratislava surroundings.
